TAU SA, ‘NO ONE STOLE LAND, EXPROPRIATION REJECTED’

TAU SA, 'no one stole land, expropriation rejected'
This was the note on which a public meeting in Warmbaths, which was chaired by TAU SA’s general manager, Mr. Bennie van Zyl, was closed. The well attended meeting accepted this position unanimously.
TAU SA’s regional chairman in the northern province, Mr. Henk van de Graaf, asked people to obtain their title deeds, or certified copies thereof, as they could be held by mortgage holders, as it is a document issued by the state, recognizing that the land was purchased. These can be valuable evidence in potential cases that may arise from any possible expropriation.
Mr. Van Zyl said in his speech that communities would have to unite and become involved in any possible action to oppose expropriation. “If we do nothing, it’s a silent condoning,” he warned.
Mr. Van Zyl also warned against people proclaiming that expropriation will not take place and that the storm will blow over. “Read the ANC’s Strategy and Tactics document. Therein they say what they are going to do and they do what they say they are going to do.”
He predicts that when the state is stealing any assets by expropriation, its consequences will be worse than Zuma’s state capture. “Capital does not follow uncertainty, and Ramaphosa has created uncertainty with his announcement of expropriation without compensation,” said Mr. van Zyl.
It is now more than ever necessary for communities to co operate and stand together, and to ensure that they are informed to make informed decisions, so that positive pressure can be applied. “Civilian torque can make a big difference,” said Mr. Van Zyl.
